Abkhazia refuses to participate in security measures meeting
22.07.2005, 10.31
TBILISI, July 22 (Itar-Tass) - Abkhazia has refused to take part in a two-day meeting in the Georgian capital to design international security measures for the conflict zone in the breakaway province, scheduled for July 22 to 23, Abkhazia's Foreign Minister Sergei Schamba told Rustavi-2 television in Tbilisi on Friday.
The foreign minister explained it by the fact that the goods confiscated from the Turkish ship Tarik Gunner have not yet been returned to Abkhazia. The ship was detained by Georgian border guards on July 3 for an attempt to violate the Abkhaz section of the Georgian sea border. http://itar-tass.com/eng/level2.html?NewsID=2253556&PageNum=0
