Abkhazia strong enough to repel fresh aggression from Georgia - official

SUKHUMI. Sept 14 (Interfax) - The Abkhazian armed forces are strong enough to repel another aggression by Georgia, Deputy Defense Minister of the breakaway republic Garry Kupalba told reporters in Sukhumi on Thursday.

UN urges Georgia not to 'provoke'
Georgian troops in Kodori Gorge
Georgian troops entered the Kodori Gorge in July

Russia had urged a stronger resolution to criticise Georgia for its presence in the Kodori Gorge.

'Legitimate government'

The public organization the Abkhazian volunteers’ union of Adygeya Republic decided to self-dissolute. As the chairman of the organization Amin Zehov informed IА REGNUM correspondent: "the Abkhazian volunteers’ union of Adygeya had operated only in the territory of Adygeya Republic, it was not a member of any public associations or parties in the territory of Russia and beyond its limits. Last bills of Abkhazia and Adygeya, and the contracts on socially-cultural-economic relations give us the reasons to stop our activities in order to not duplicate the state intuitions.
