The president of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh sent on January 20th a letter to the chairman of United Nations Security Council Augustine Mahiga. In it the present position of Abkhazian management in the Georgian-Abkhazian opposition was explained.

The leader of Abkhazia expressed his concern in connection with activization of activities of Georgian illegal military formations in Gali area. The vice-premier Leonid Lakerbaja on January 17th held a meeting with participation of representatives of the special working group created with the view of security of population of Abkhazia and prevention of poultry diseases from possible bird's flu break out.

The meeting participants informed the vice-premier about organized preventive actions, in particular, on Inguri Bridge. On the Gali market any trade of breathing birds and products of poultry farming, and also export of products of poultry farming and breathing bird from Gali area into other areas of republic had been already forbidden.
