Authorities in St. Petersburg detained scores of individuals after protesters engaged in a March of Dissent rally Sunday, just a day after a similar protest in Moscow led to the arrests of 250, including Russian chess champion Garry Kasparov. We are deeply disturbed by the heavy-handed manner in which this weekend’s demonstrations in Moscow and St. Petersburg were broken up by the authorities and by an emerging pattern of use of excessive force by the authorities in reaction to similar events, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said. Perino said she doesn’t think President Bush has expressed his opinion directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin yet, but Perino said Bush would urge the Russian government ... >> full...

SOCHI: LAND OF GENOCIDE SOCHI: LAND OF GENOCIDE Honorable Members of the Olympic Committee You could recently appreciate the preparations and promises of the town of Sochi, candidate for hosting the 2014 winter Olympic Games. During your visit, you must have been surely able to travel without any infringement to admire the natural beauty of that region. That is very lucky of you, because it is not the case for a great number of inhabitants of Caucasus where Sochi is situated.
