Pressure put on organizer of "Dissenter’s Meeting" in Ryazan
RUSSIA, Ryazan. On November 12, one of the organizers of the "Dissenter’s Meeting" in Ryazan, Sergey Agadzhanyan, was taken to the Ryazan UBOP. In a conversation with UBOP Chief Vadim Kozhevnikov, Agadzhanyan was advised to forego the planned action, reported the press-service of the opposition coalition "The Other Russia".

The regional organizing committee of "The Other Russia" declared that these kinds of attempts at pressuring organizers of public demonstrations were a violation of Russian legislation.

On November 9, members of the Ryazan organizing committee of "The Other Russia" informed the municipal administration about their intent to hold a Dissenter’s Meeting. The event will be held in Ryazan on November 24. Marchers will gather at Pobedy Square at 3:00p.m. The procession will follow Pervomaysky Prospect to Lenin Square, where the meeting will take place. The slogans of the action are: "The elections are a farce!", "No to elections without selection!", "Eight years is plenty!", "Enough of Putin!" and "Your time is up!".

A "Dissenters’ March" will also be held on November 24 in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod and on November 25 in Saint Petersburg. The main objective of these actions is to express protest against "elections without selection". In Moscow, the March is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm at Puskinskaya Square. At 2:00pm, demonstrators will be directed to the Central Election Commission. Three possible routes have been proposed to City Hall: Tverskaya street, Bolshaya Dmitrovka and Petrovka. In Saint Petersburg, the route of procession will be from Dvortsovy Square to Nevsky Prospekt and Kazan Street to Voznesensky Prospect to St. Isaac's Square, to where the meeting will take place at Marinsky Square. In Nizhny Novgorod, a meeting is planned in Gorky Square, which will proceed along B. Pokrovskaya Street.
