On 15 December representatives of the all-Russian movement “For Human Rights”, the Committee for anti-war protests, the Antiwar Club and the Russian Movement for the Independence of Chechnya picketed the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments (FSIN) in Moscow with the aim of supporting the political prisoner Mikhail Trepashkin and to focus the attention of the FSIN on the unacceptability of human rights abuses, fabricating charges and breaking the law.
Participants in the demonstration, of whom there were about 20, held portraits of Trepashkin with the title “Political prisoner of Russia”, a portrait of Aleksandr Litvinenko with the title “Who ordered the poisoning of Aleksandr Litvinenko (author of the investigative piece “Did the FSB bomb Russia?)”, and placards: “free the lawyer Trepashkin!”, “Not providing medical aid is the most cynical of crimes!”, “Obey the law and not the orders of the government!”, “Political provocations of the FSB is the path to terror!”, “the FSIN are killing Trepashkin!”, “No to fabricated criminal cases!”, “No to arbitrary power!”, “End the punishment of Mikhail Trepashkin!”.
The picketers handed out to passers-by discs of the films “Distrust” and “Attempt on Russia”. Information agency PRIMA-News [2006-12-15-Rus-20] http://www.prima-news.ru/eng/news/news/2006/12/18/37314.html
