Tashtagolskey region. Kemerovskaya province. According to prisoners’ relatives, prisoners are subject to regular beatings in the FGU IR -4 Settlement in Sheregesh. Human rights activist Oxana Dzer reported to the All-Russian Movement for Human Rights that on June 26th, one prisoner, Yevgeny Malyshev, was driven to attempt suicide as the result of a beating.
Yevgeny Malyshev had previously served his sentence in FGU IR -29 GUFSIN in the Kemerovskaya province, where he was constantly beaten. In connection with a change in Malyshev’s status, he was transferred to IR-4, where immediately after arrival, he was severely beaten by the chief of the operational part of the colony, Yevgeny Grekov, and an officer of the operational part, Maxim Orlov. Brought to desperation, Yevgeny Malyshev cut the veins in his armpits and was transferred to the medical-sanitation section of the colony. As of June 30th, he was on an IV drip. The chief of the medical-sanitation section of the colony refused to treat Malyshev’s serious injuries. The fact of the injuries must b established to make a criminal complaint.
Prisoners’ relatives assert that those who complain to the higher authorities do not leave the colony. The prisoners stated to relatives that if the beatings continue and Malyshev’s injuries are not treated, they will subject themselves to mutilation.
