ICPO: in 2009, three persons were kidnapped in Ingushetia

jun 17 2009, 21:00

According to the Investigatory Department (ID) for Ingushetia of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation, in the first half-year of 2009, three facts of kidnapping were registered in the territory of the republic. Investigation of them continues.

"In early April of 2009, in the city of Malgobek, a group of armed persons in camouflage kidnapped Gapur Tankiev, 23, a local resident. Various versions of this kidnapping are studied, including kidnapping with the aim to get ransom," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the ID for Ingushetia of the ICPO.

Another kidnapping took place in Ordzhonikidzevskaya village, Sunzha District of Ingushetia, where in late April this year unidentified armed persons in camouflage kidnapped Ismail Khamkhoev, 38, right from his own house.

"Along with other versions, we check possible Khamkhoev's kidnapping on vengeance motives," said a source from the ID.

Besides, in late May this year, in the city of Malgobek, armed persons in camouflage kidnapped and took in an unknown place Idris Tsizdoev, 28, also from his own house; his whereabouts is still unknown.

According to the ID of the ICPO, during the similar period of 2008 only one kidnapping was registered in Ingushetia. Inspectors link a certain increase in the number of these crimes with "the growth tendency in the number of registered kidnappings," which is observed recently all over the country.

It should be noted that the ICPO's statistics for 2009 fails to include the kidnapping of Magomed Albogachiev, former deputy head of the administration of Ali-Yurt, and disappearance in early June this year of Adrakhman Temirkhanov (Kortoev), 80, a resident of Ordzhonikidzevskaya.

Ex-official Albogachiev was kidnapped by unknown persons from his own house in the evening on March 2, 2009. Later, his body was found in the field between the villages of Ali-Yurt and Surkhakhi with bullet wounds in his head and breast. Religious figure Temirkhanov, who disappeared in early June under unclear circumstances, was found a couple of days later with attributes of violent death in a suburb of Troitskaya village in Sunzha District.

Also, in Nazran on February 17, some armed people kidnapped a local resident Musa Daurbekov. The culprits pulled him out of his car model VAZ-2109 and forced him into their car. Then, he was found dead with traces of torture.

The ID for the Republic of Ingushetia of the ICPO explained that they received data about the incidents right after detection of the bodies of murdered kidnapped persons; therefore, the investigation was initiated already on the fact of "murder" and "illegal bearing of arms and ammunition."

See earlier reports: "Idris Tsizdoev, kidnapped in Ingushetia, not found yet," "Ismail Khamkhoev kidnapped in Ingushetia found dead in Chechnya," "ICPO: a MIA agent kidnapped and killed a local resident in Ingushetia," ""Memorial": more kidnappings in Chechnya, more murders in Ingushetia," "Evkurov promised to supervise search of Gapur Tankiev kidnapped in Ingushetia," "Mutsolgov: murder of ex-head of Ali-Yurt village in Ingushetia is non-standard."
