From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 11/16/2007 11:11 AM 16.11.2007 12:54 MSK Candidate for Deputy of the State Duma from "The Other Russia" discharged from work after call from FSB RUSSIA, Orel. Candidate for State Duma Deputy from the coalition "The Other Russia" Mikhail Deyev was discharged from work after a call from the FSB. Deyev, who worked as a guard in an Orel business, reported that the director of the firm told him he was being discharged, after stating: "The FSB called me and told me to discharge you".
The director also added that the dismissal was directly connected to the increased activities of "The Other Russia" in Orel. "You will not find work as a guard at any firm", added the director.
As the press-service of "The Other Russia" reported Deyev has already been pressured by the authorities. He's been detained at meetings for "conducting a picket", and also for distributing propaganda materials. The procuratorship "warned" him against "extremist activity". He was once taken from his place of work to the UBOP, where he was beaten.
The oppositional coalition has been refused registration on the list of candidates for the State Duma, since "The Other Russia" is not a registered political party. Nevertheless, the coalition is conducting an election campaign.
