2/7/2007 Kuznetsov: Trepashkin deprived of medicines
The defense of Mikhail Trepashkin convicted for the disclosure of a state secret claim that the convict's health has deteriorated.
According to lawyer Sergei Kuznetsov, Trepashkin is deprived of medicines, normal food and daily walks, reports radio "Liberty."
The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that on June 22, Mikhail Trepashkin was transferred from the corrective labour colony in Nizhni Taghil to pre-trial prison No 1 of Yekaterinburg for taking part in the consideration by the Sverdlovsk regional court of his cassation appeal against enhancing the security of his prison regime.
The consideration of the Trepashkin's cassation appeal was initially appointed for June 6, but it was put off because the court failed to timely receive the documents to the effect that Trepashkin insists on his presence during the hearing and there was no time to drive him from Nizhni Taghil.
Trepashkin suffers from an acute form of allergic bronchial asthma. He is systematically denied treatment and kept under the conditions which foster aggravation of the disease.
