Alexandra Zernova, the lawyer from London who together with the lawyer Clive Stafford Smith represent interests of Kabardino-Balkarian inhabitant Rasul Kudaev in the international court under the claim of Guantanamo former prisoners against the U.S. government, on January, 16th managed to receive some information on his client’s site. She phoned about it from London.
Note: Kudaev had been taken out from Nalchik investigatory isolator one month ago after the meeting with the president of Kabardino-Balkaria Arsen Kanokov and the plenipotentiary of the president of Russian Federation on the SFD Dmitry Kozak whom he had told about tortures of him.
In the investigatory isolator Kudaev was visited by journalists of the central TV-channels who made an interview with him. Rasul told that he did not participate in the Nalchik attack of the insurgents, that he was at home then, that he was a Moslem, but did not support the idea of creation of an Islamic state in Caucasus as he had been to Afghanistan - Islamic state - and saw that there all time war was on.
Lawyer Zernova said that in Kudaev’s search she addressed the inspector Evgenie Kotljarov who was personally engaged Rasul’s case, to the head of the investigatory group of the Office of Public Prosecutor of Russian Federation on the SFD Alexey Sovrulin; she was also called in reception of the head of the republican president administration, but nobody told her where at that moment her client was.
She got the answer from an ordinary employee of the investigatory insulator who told that Rasul Kudaev had been taken out to Pyatigorsk town (Stavropol Territory), and now he is in prison "White swan". The employee of the investigatory isolator also said that he was taken away for a while, but she did not know when he would be returned back.
Note: Kudaev was detained on October 23rd on suspicion of participation in the events of October 13th, 2005 at his home in settlement Hasania near Nalchik where he lived. According to his mother Fatima Tekaeva, Rasul was so sick after his locking up in the American prison Guantanamo (he had a bullet in a leg), that almost all time he staid in bed.
