As IА “Caucasus Times” informed on November, 19th referring to the Russian BBS branch, one of the world most known legal expert organizations accused the Russian special services of tortures of the suspected of participation in the Nalchik attack.

The "Human Rights Watch" organization considered that the Russian authorities under tortures received confessions of the arrested persons.

On October, 13th as a result of the attack of insurgents the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria more than 120 people were lost.

Representatives of the Russian authority rejected charges in excess of their powers and rigid treatment of arrested persons.

"Human Rights Watch" stated that its employees had collected convincing proofs according to which, at least, 8 persons from among the arrested after the attack had had undergone to the illegal treatment. As the organization approved they beat them and did not allow meeting with lawyers.

As the Associated Press agency reported, one of those 8 people was Rasul Kudaev, the former prisoner of the jail of the American base in Guantanamo. As the agency wrote, his relatives had complained that he was thrashed hard several times, and his lawyer declared "Human Rights Watch" that when he saw him last time in the end of October, Rasul Kudaev could not walk without assistance.

"The Russian law enforcement bodies constantly use tortures during their antiterrorist operations", - quoted the Associated Press the statement of the director of the European and Central-Asian branch of the legal organization.

"The illegal practice of struggle against some human rights’ infringements by means of other infringements must be immediately stopped", - told in the "Human Rights Watch" statement.
