Schmidt: ´´The case of Danilov and the case of Sutiagin. Both these cases, in my opinion, were fabricated by the authorities´´. Yu. Schmidt: I have concrete examples, absolutely concrete examples. I will name only two cases. The case of Danilov and the case of Sutiagin. Both these cases, in my opinion, were fabricated by the authorities. I am very well informed on either of these cases and I know well how the verdict of the jury in the case of Danilov was reversed without absolutely no grounds thereto, simply because they would not allow an acquittal of another spy, and with us it was only one spy who appeared to be acquitted, it was Alexander Nikitin, but it was in 1999, much water has flowed under the bridge since that time and the situation has radically changed. ... >> full...

From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 7/29/2005 2:12 AM NEW EXODUS FROM CHECHEN VILLAGE 26.07.2005 - 00:42:45 Several dozen residents left the Chechen village of Borozdinovskaya on 21 and 22 July for the second time in two months and fled to the neighboring republic of Daghestan... Hundreds of Avar families from Borozdinovskaya fled to Daghestan in June following the killing of one villager and the abduction of 11 others during a sweep operation by unidentified security forces. Those families returned home only after receiving security guarantees and a promise of compensation from pro-Moscow officials. Russian human rights officials said, the second exodus was triggered by fears of reprisals by local security forces. Meanwhile, the fate of the 11 villagers abducted in June remains unclear, although the Russian website ´´Kavkazskii uzel´´on 22 July cited unconfirmed reports that they have been sighted in a prison established by Chechen First Deputy Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov in his home village of ... >> full...
